Mr. Cardinal would not cooperate this morning. This was the most I could get from him. I love the cardinals-their call is so distinctive and they are so beautiful.
He's probably mad about the squirrel.
KATHY R!!! I'm howling!!
cooperation or not, this is gorgeous! we don't have cardinals in these western parts. i'd kill (well, almost) to have them in my yard! beautiful! thanks for your kind comments on my site, yt. that your kids are so beautiful and cool certainly reflects on their mother (and her lawyer ;-). i have been enjoying your photos and stories immensely. i love that your daughter's name is madeleine (with exactly that spelling). my site is named in honor of madeleine l'engle, who was in many ways my spiritual and artistic mother and mentor. she went to her eternal rest in september of last year, and it was my impetus to jump into the daily writing discipline of the blog; i owed it to her, and to myself. sorry for the saga on your comments! :-) thanks again.
dang, i meant to say "her attorney" rather than 'lawyer.' oh well, you know what i meant. :-)
He is so pretty! I love the vivid colors.
he seems so full of personality and what a great, sharp shot - I doubt I will ever see a Cardinal here and frankly, with the April snow, I am not surprised.
haha at kathyr.the red against the green is just so nice. and who does not just love a cardinal?!?
Is the grass around him naturally greener like that, or does it have to do with the focus of the photograph?
Oooh, BB you are astute. I did not play with the color immediately around the bird, but I did fade it out around the edges!
