30/365+1:Cat Series-Fresh Kitty

Younger Daughter volunteers at a cat shelter, holding kittens to give them some warmth, and brushing and playing with older cats. We like to go by in the morning before it's open and look through the window at the cats du jour. This kitty kept sticking his tongue out at us. I can't get Flickr to work this morning, so I uploaded this through Picasa, and it seems to have lost some quality. Through the window is never the best way to photograph, but I swear on Flickr it looks great. Ah, well...

What a wonderful thing to do. Great capture of that cute, little, pink tongue.

Oh how I wish I weren't allergic to those feline creatures.

Ampersand, my spouse, The Attorney, is DEATHLY allergic. When I bring Younger Daughter home she has to walk directly to the laundry room with her clothes, where the washer full of water awaits, and I wash and dry them and clean out the appliances immediately. She showers and washes her hair. It's a drag. I used to have cats, and always loved them.

My beloved spouse is terribly allergic too!

Love the yellow and blue in this and the angle, the kitty realy stands out.

My husband is totally allergic too, so we can't have a cat either. But it nearly kills me! I've always had cats.

I've thought about volunteering before, but I think it would be too hard. I'd want to bring them home too badly.

I'm vaguely allergic to cats, but seem to have developed a tolerance of my two. It's only when I go to someone else who has cats and wonder why my eyes are itching and I'm sneezing.

Love those kitties.

sorry about the allergies, everyone! that is a great cat, YT -- i love how they all have their little quirks.

kudos to YD for volunteering! my daughter fostered 7 or 8 batches of kittens, to socialize them for adoption. then i took 2 very feral older kittens after she left for college; ended up adopting them. oh, well. [they are tough cases! love the indoor life and the big cats, but are not quite there yet on human contact. i'm wearing them down with catnip, wet food, toys, and treats.]
