21/365+1:Painted Building Series-Japanese Restaurant

There are some great paintings on the sides of buildings here. This one is on the Japanese restaurant closest to my house. The brown roof and the early, cold morning light gave this shot some richness, I thought. I'll be posting buildings now and then as I drive around and snap them.

I love shots like this, it gives me a real sense of neighborhood and gives life to a place I have never been.
Love the reds and blues and dappled light.

Very cool mosaic. Is that Mount Fuji with a wave in the yellow oval?

Niiice. How is their food?

the wave is definitely adapted from a famous work, The Great Wave off Kanagawa, by Katsushika Hokusai. carp are also traditional subjects of japanese art.

i'm wondering what is going on with the windows? it looks like the mural is on something like a fence, partly covering the industrial windows. very interesting, inventive and colorful!
