18/365+1:Dog Series-Red Dog

18/365+1:Dog Series-Red Dog, originally uploaded by Yankee T.

We have three dogs. One, believe it or not, is afraid of cameras. As soon as a camera comes out, she leaves the room. I want to photograph the other two, though, as this one has a great face and the other one has a great coat. So you will see Red Dog and Black Dog.

What a pretty dog.

What if you try leaving the camera on the floor next to her dog food?

The kitchen floor in our house is a little too risky for my camera, I'm afraid. I tried leaving it out on the tripod whenever they're in, but if it's in the room, Dog Number One will not come in.

My big boy Grizzly is terrified of cameras, even without a flash, just pointing it at him or him hearing the shutter click will cause him to run from the room.

lovely, lovely shot of your red dog, good balance, a nice face and those eyes.

sweet pup!

i love how pets each have their own issues, just like humans. our feral kittens don't quite trust humans too close, and they get squicked out if they hear me turn the camera on. but if i turn it on and do a rough adjustment in another room, and don't get to close, they are fine.

does dog #1 worry about all cameras, or just the one you keep trying to shoot him/her with?

KathyA: It's all cameras now. Even camera phones. The first Christmas we had her, we got pictures galore. After that, she started running when she sees or hears the thing.

oh, poor babe!

for some reason, our brave and feisty junior dog is terrified of a hedgehog squeeky toy. no idea why. she'll run just seeing it. had to retire the darned thing [although it gave our quieter senior dog considerable enjoyment, having this one way to be the alpha dog].

Such a pretty doggie! I can't get ours to be still long enough to focus the camera on her. ;)

It probably makes a noise that she can't stand. I have a friend whose schnauzer goes beserk if he tries to clean the window, because the squeak bothers her ears.
